Jim Hines here, another great podcast guys. You touched on my questions from the last one and many thanks. I believe you missed some points regards line tapers vs actual line weights vs leader builds as it relates to casting ability. Basically there is a big difference between line manufacturers as it pertains to advertised weight vs actual weights. I tend to disagree regards quality of lines and cost, specifically ‘you have to spend $80 on a good line’. Finally I believe as it pertains to leaders, people focus on break strength of leaders where they should be focusing on leader diameter and tippet as it relates to the fly line and the actual fly size. Finally, double taper line are basically level end to end with a taper at each end down to the end or loop assuming it has one. I may have been told to go sit on the back porch if I was going to talk back to the phone with answers 😂😂.
